Back to school

I always feel a bit left out in September when the kids go back to school. New shoes, new pencil case, new opportunities to learn new things… I think we grown-ups forget that it’s never too late to pick up a different skill – we perhaps just need a bit of inspiration and a nudge in the right direction.

If floristry is something you’ve always wanted to have a go at, Gardenia Flower School is the perfect place to start. These small, informal groups are a great introduction to some key techniques – and they are a lot of fun too!

Run by our experienced senior florists, participants get a chance to try their hand at making seasonal arrangements, table decorations, flower crowns, wreaths and even bridal flowers.

Past students have learned how to hand-tie a bouquet of British flowers, create their own spring planter, decorate ornate wreaths for Christmas and Easter and make table centrepieces to celebrate Burns Night and Chinese New Year. DIY brides can learn how to make their own bouquet, flower crown and buttonholes.

For 2018, we have partnered up with our Wimbledon Village neighbours, Vallebona, to bring you an afternoon of flowers and tasty Italian food. Vallebona supplies top chefs and restaurants nationwide with incredible, artisan ingredients and delicacies. Their amazing concept store has high ceilings and plenty of natural light – ideal for a flower school!

For a list of upcoming dates and themes, call us on 0208 944 0942 or email team@gardeniaoflondon.co.uk.

Even if you have never picked up a cut flower before you’ll leave your Flower School class with something you can feel really proud of, so don’t be shy – sign up and join in!

Any excuse for a new pencil case….

Jamie
