It’s (still) the thought that counts
Seven stops on our flower delivery round: favourite places to eat and shop in Wimbledon, Teddington and Wandsworth
We have always been part of the local high street. We do, of course, offer UK-wide flower delivery (and same day flower delivery into central London), but our feet are firmly planted in our local communities in Wimbledon, Teddington and Wandsworth Common. We even name all our hand-ties after the streets around our stores!
It helps that these are all lovely places to live and work. Our neighbours tend to be independent businesses, just like Gardenia, who share our passion for making the high street an attractive, inspiring place and encouraging residents to shop small and local.
You’ll often see Gardenia’s flower delivery vans out and about in southwest London; and sometimes you’ll even see our florists delivering flowers locally by hand. They know our neighbourhoods inside out, so we asked them to share their favourite places to eat, drink and shop.
Some of these are already firm favourites with our customers; some are hidden gems. All are highly recommended by our team so do give them a try next time you’re in the area:
The Fallow Deer – Teddington
Our Teddington florists are just a few steps away from the Fallow Deer’s hearty breakfasts, irresistible home made cakes, craft beer and tempting Friday night cocktails. It’s the perfect place to visit before coming along to our next Gardenia Flower School Workshop in our Teddington shop on Thursday 26th September.
Beanberry Coffee Company – Kingston
This is the only place our flower delivery driver, Dawn, will stop for coffee in Kingston. Beanberry Coffee’s fresh, organic beans are roasted in nearby Woking – as local as you can get!
Take Time Nail Salon – Wimbledon
Being a florist is not kind on the hands. Take Time is a favourite stop for our Wimbledon Village florists ahead of a big night out or after a long day on their feet.
Evie Loves Toast – Wimbledon
Need a present for a friend? Pick up some flowers from our Wimbledon Village store, then head to Evie Loves Toast for a gorgeous choice of gifts including jewellery, accessories, cult beauty buys and the cutest kidswear.
Olivier’s Lounge – Wandsworth Common
This super-stylish boutique is home to the most relaxing shopping experience you’ll ever have. No more struggling with hangers in a badly lit fitting room – Olivier’s Lounge will transform the way you buy clothes.
POM – Wandsworth Common
Another gem of a place for clothes, shoes and accessories, POM stocks a range of sought-after designers that you won’t find in a fast fashion chain. Worth a visit if you’re looking for something a bit less throwaway.
Chez Bruce – Wandsworth Common
Michelin-starred Chez Bruce has been part of Bellevue Road for almost a quarter of a century and it’s still a firm favourite amongst local residents and those that make the journey from further afield. That cheese board…..
Having your groceries, fashion buys and flowers delivered to the doorstep is obviously appealing, but your local high street has so much to offer. If you do one thing this month, make an effort to visit it and buy from the independent retailers you find there. In this uncertain economical climate, you might lose it if you don’t use it.
